JESUS CHRIST IS A FRIEND
1) Christ Is A Friend Whose Person I Can Love:
1 Peter 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
We not only love Him for what He is in Himself, but we love Him for what He has done.
1 John 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.
2) Christ Is A Friend Whose Presence I Can Enjoy:
Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
We cannot always be with our earthly friends, but Christ is a Friend Who is always with us, whose companionship we can enjoy along life's highway.
3) Christ Is A Friend Whose Word I Can Trust:
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
He is the embodiment of truth. He ver told a lie nor broke a promise. His Word can be depended upon always, in spite of what some critics say.
4) Christ Is A Friend Whose Sympathy I Can Depend Upon:
Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
He can sympathize because He understands. Many cannot sympathize because they do not understand. What a Friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and griefs to bear.
5) Christ Is A Friend Whose Coming I Expect:
John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
He has promised to return, and His coming is a certain as the dawn. He is coming and this could be the day.
